How scalable is the QL.Admin program?

QL.Admin is used by start-up companies, acquisition companies and those acting as Third Party Administrators, as well as long-standing established insurers since 1988. Our clients are diverse in size and volume administering as few as 1,000 to as many as 350,000 policies.

What is the QL.Admin operating environment?

QL.Admin runs on a 32-bit Windows-based platform and can be implemented on most major PC networks including Windows NT/2000/XP/Vista. It uses the familiar and stable xBase database format with client/server processing that is enabled with the Advantage Database Server from Sybase.

The QL.Admin setu up does not affect the Windows registry. The executable file, DLLs and RDDs are all installed in the same directory. The database files may be in a separate working directory.

What is Advantage Database Server?

Advantage Database Server is a full-featured, high performance client/server data management system specifically designed to meet the needs of business application developers. Advantage is unique among the Sybase database offerings in that it provides both Indexed Sequential Access Method (ISAM) table-based and SQL-based data access, providing a growth path for legacy database applications to today's modern techniques.

How secure is your data during everyday operations?

Rudd and Wisdom also offers an off site backup service for a monthly fee. The additional fee will be included with your monthly product service fee. The backup data occurs nightly, and will only transfer QL.Admin data. Rudd and Wisdom also has our own disaster recovery plan with off site backup, so you are protected twice. QL.Admin is a well-rounded system with log-in requirements, timed sessions, and multiple security levels with restricted functionality. You or your System Operator (Sys-Op) has the ability to:

  • Fully or partially restrict user access at the menu / sub-menu level.
  • Fully or partially restrict user access at the function level.
  • Fully or partially restrict user access at the data field level.
